Born on April 23, 1994, in Sirohi, Saurashtra, Prerak Nileshkumar Mankad is an all-rounder who plays for Saurashtra in the domestic circuit and represents the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League.

Mankad has a good domestic record in the longer formats, not only with the bat but also with the ball, and is a proven all-rounder. For the skill he possesses, the 30-year-old Saurashtra all-rounder has been underutilized in order to showcase his potential in the IPL.

Prerak Mankad has a great track record in the domestic circuit and would also like to replicate the momentum in the IPL and showcase his abilities with a wide array of opportunities.

Prerak Mankad Domestic Career

Prerak Mankad made his T20 debut for Saurashtra against Rajasthan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2015-16. Though he did not get to bat, Mankad showed his potential with the ball as he picked up 2 wickets for 27 runs at an economy of 6.75.

He made his First-Class debut for Saurashtra against Mumbai in the final of the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 season. He scored 66 runs in the first innings but could not help his team get past the line as Saurashtra lost to Mumbai by an innings and 21 runs. Mankad made his List-A debut for Saurashtra against Services in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016-17 season. He scored a half-century on his List-A debut and was the top-scorer for Saurashtra in that game as his team lost by a margin of 48 runs.

In the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season, Saurashtra finished as the winners against Bengal, and Mankad picked up the wickets of skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran and wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha.

Prerak Mankad IPL Career

Prerak Mankad was initially signed by the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2022 mega auction for his base price of INR 20 lakhs. He made his IPL debut against Sunrisers Hyderabad where he hit the winning runs in his very first ball off Umran Malik. It was his sole match for the Kings as the Lucknow Super Giants bought him for INR 20 lakhs in the IPL 2023 auction.

He played 5 games for the Super Giants and scored 93 runs at a strike rate of 129.17, including a match-winning 64 not out against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, earning him his first ‘Player of The Match’ award in IPL.
