Akash Vashisht started his domestic career in December 2014 in the Ranji Trophy match where he scored 30 runs as an opener against Assam in his first match and his bowling also impressed everyone.

In November 2019, 5 years after his Ranji debut, Akash Vashisht debuted in the Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy against Railways. In his first Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy match, Akash did not get the opportunity to bat but showed his talent in bowling and took two wickets for 24 runs in three overs, providing his team an important win.

Having started his career in two formats at the domestic level, Akash Vashisht was now left with only List A format where he made his debut against Maharashtra in February 2021.

Akash Vashisht, who has been showing his talent in domestic cricket from a very young age, got real recognition 9 years after his Ranji debut in the 2022-23 Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, where he impressed the IPL selectors with his explosive batting in the lower order, after which he was included in the Rajasthan Royals team for Rs 20 lakh in the 2023 IPL. Akash Vashisht started his first-class career at the domestic level at the age of 20 on 28 December 2014 against Assam where he contributed 30 runs while batting in his first match and also impressed everyone with his bowling. Akash Vashisht, who has been playing first-class cricket for almost 10 years, has participated in only 32 matches so far where he has scored 1411 runs at an average of 35.5, which includes three centuries and four half-centuries to his name, Along with his batting, Akash Vashisht has also shown his bowling prowess in the Ranji Trophy where he has taken 52 wickets in 45 innings of 32 matches with an economy rate of 3.20. Talking about his domestic T20 career, which he started on 18 November 2019 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, 5 years after his Ranji debut, he has so far scored 455 runs in a total of 24 T20 matches at a strike rate of 156.35 and an average of 35, in which two half-centuries have also come from his bat along with that he has also taken 12 wickets in the 16 innings that he has bowled into.

After showing his prowess in the longest and shortest formats of cricket at the domestic level, Akash also made his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Maharashtra on 21 February 2021. Akash Vashisht has batted well in First Class and T-20 as well as List A and has scored 480 runs at an average of 34.28 in which a total of three half-centuries have come from his bat so far. His best score in this format is 92 runs and along with that, he has 11 scalps in his 19 innings so far.
