South African cricketer Clyde Fortuin was born on August 18, 1995, and rose to prominence after he was selected for his country's squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Later on, he was a member of the Border squad that played in the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. Fortuin was chosen for the Bloem City Blazers team for the T20 Global League's inaugural season in August 2017. But in late 2017, the league was canceled after being postponed.

Fortuin became a member of the Northern Cape team in September 2019 in preparation for the CSA Provincial T20 Cup.
