Kanishk Seth: A Brief Biography

Kanishk Seth Biography

Kanishk Seth is an Indian cricketer, born on 4th November 1997 in Kolkata. Kanishk is primarily a left-arm medium pacer and bats right-handed lower down the order for Bengal.

Background

Kanishk started his cricket at very early age and by the time he turned 14, he joined a local club, Balaka Sangha, for the 2011-12 season.

A year later, he moved to another CAB second division club, Victoria Sporting Club. In 2013, he migrated to first division side, Rajasthan Club before finally he was picked up by Shyambazar Club in the 2014-15 season.

He soon broke into Bengal Under-19 squad in 2015. He took six wickets in four matches for Eastern Zone Under-19 side and picked up same number of wickets in three matches representing India Green Under-19 side in the Challenger tournament.

In January 2017 Kanishk’s brilliant 91 under immense pressure in the Cooch Behar trophy U-19 final against Delhi helped Bengal colts to lift the trophy after two decades.

Debut

The youngster made his Bengal senior team debut in the East Zone Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Assam in March 2015. He took a wicket conceding 19 runs in two overs.

Kanishk made his first-class debut in the Ranji Group D encounter against Services in October 2017. He bagged three dismissals and scored 30 runs.

Rise to Glory

Kanishk had a decent 2017-18 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy campaign taking nine wickets in six matches including a match-winning three for 23 against Tripura.

Club Career

Kanishk was picked up by Chennai Super Kings at 20 lacs. In the 2018 Indian Premier League auction.
