Nahid Rana started his career in first-class cricket on 31 October 2021 where he played his first match for Rajshahi Division against Barisal Division, where he bowled well and took four wickets in the match.
A big milestone in Nahid Rana's career came in January 2023 when he got the opportunity to make his T20 debut for the Khulna Tigers against Dominators in the Bangladesh Premier League.
In his first match, Nahid Rana could not impress much and could take just one wicket and in the entire tournament he got to play only three matches where he took two wickets.
After 1 month, Nahid Rana also got the opportunity to make his List A debut for Shinepukur Cricket Club where he once again performed averagely and could take only two wickets in 9 overs. In this Test match against Sri Lanka in Sylhet, Nahid Rana made a century start to his international career by taking three wickets in the first and two wickets in the second.
Nahid Rana played a key role in Bangladesh's first Test series win over Pakistan where he took 6 wickets in four innings of two matches, including 44 runs in the last innings of the second Test, breaking the back of Pakistan by dismissing 4 Pakistani batsmen and helping Bangladesh win the Test series against Pakistan for the first time. On October 31, 2021, Nahid made his debut in the National Cricket League for the Rajshahi Division in the 2021–2022 season. In the 2022–23 National Cricket League, on October 31, 2022, a year later, he accomplished a noteworthy milestone when he claimed his first five-wicket haul in a first-class match against Barishal Division. Having taken 32 wickets in all, he is the second-highest wicket-taker in the competition thanks to his outstanding play.
Nahid's skills were acknowledged in January 2023 when he was chosen to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the Khulna Tigers in the 2022–2023 season.
