Mohammad Abbas: A Brief Biography

Mohammad Abbas Biography

Mohammad Abbas is a Pakistani cricketer who was born on 10th of March, 1990 in Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan. He is a right arm fast medium bowler who has received much acclaim in recent times owing to his stellar performances.

Background

Abbas, before starting to play cricket, worked in a law firm as a helper. He made his first-class debut in early 2009 for his regional side Sialkot. They ended the season by winning the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

He played three games taking four wickets at an average of 32 that season. He rose to prominence only in 2016 after two successful domestic seasons.

Debut

Mohammad Abbas took three wickets combined in both the innings of his first test match in the April of 2017.

Pakistan beat West Indies by 7 wickets.

He is yet to make his international debut in limited overs cricket.

Rise To Glory

Abbas was the leading wicket-taker in the 2015-16 edition of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, with a tally of 61 wickets. He outperformed himself the very next season, with a mind blowing figure of 71 wickets.

He took his maiden five-wicket haul against West Indies at the Windsor Park in the third test match of his debut series.

Club Career

He played for the Sialkot Stallions from 2009-16. He also plays for Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League.

He has taken 304 wickets in 69 first class test matches.

His domestic Twenty20 statistics are less flattering, with a total of 8 wickets in 12 matches.

He has also played for Pakistan Television and Khan Research Laboratories.
