Ramandeep Singh Domestic Career
Ramandeep Singh made his domestic debut for Punjab against Haryana in the Inter-State T20 Tournament 2017. He made his List-A debut for Punjab against Vidarbha in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20, but neither got the opportunity to bat or bowl in the match.
Singh made his first-class debut for Punjab against Bengal in the Ranji Trophy 2019-20 season. Though he registered a duck on his maiden innings, he was the lone warrior for Punjab in the second innings as the team collapsed to 141 all out and lost to Bengal by 48 runs.
The Chandigarh batter was part of the victorious Punjab squad that won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023-24 by defeating Baroda by a margin of 20 runs.
Ramandeep Singh IPL Career
Ramandeep Singh was acquired by the Mumbai Indians (MI) for INR 20 lakhs in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He made his IPL debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bengaluru) in IPL 2022 but failed to impress on his debut. Though he could not contribute much with the bat, he was good enough with the ball with his medium-pace and took 6 wickets at an average of 9.00.
With Hardik Pandya back in the hut for MI, Singh was released ahead of IPL 2024 and was grabbed by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 auction for INR 20 lakhs. He had a season to remember as he contributed to KKR’s third IPL title with his useful cameos as a finisher and a catch to savor for the ages when he grabbed the wicket of Arshin Kulkarni out of thin air, which was eventually announced as the ‘catch of the tournament.’
