Avesh Khan Domestic Career
Avesh Khan made his First-class debut against Railways in Delhi on December 07, 2014, where he picked up 2 wickets in the first innings. Khan made his List A debut against Mumbai in Chennai on Feb 05, 2018. He spearheaded the bowling for Madhya Pradesh in the 2018-19 Ranji season as he picked up 35 wickets in 7 matches.
Avesh Khan IPL Career
In 2017, Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bengaluru) bought Avesh Khan for INR 10 lakhs.
After making his IPL debut for the Royal Challengers in 2017, Avesh moved to Delhi Capitals for INR 75 lakhs and was retained by the franchise for the IPL 2020. He played a lone match in that season but came back to have a career-best season with the ball, picking up 24 wickets and being the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, behind Harshal Patel.
Khan was released ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction and was snatched by the newly-inducted Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping INR 10 crores, the most for an uncapped player in IPL history. He was involved in an infamous victory off the last ball against the Royal Challengers in IPL 2023 and was eventually fined INR 12 lakhs for throwing his helmet as a celebratory gesture.
The 27-year-old pacer was traded to Rajasthan Royals for Karnataka batter Devdutt Padikkal ahead of IPL 2024. He bowled economically, taking 19 wickets and leading the Royals to the playoffs. His IPL returns made the BCCI name him as a traveling reserve for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

However, he helped India get over the line in South Africa’s tour of India and salvaged a series-leveling draw with his career-best figures of 4/18 in 2022. He was selected for the ACC Asia Cup 2022 and picked up 2 wickets in 2 games, but was eventually ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to an illness and was replaced by bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar.
